This privacy policy sets out how Goodridge Limited and our partners use and protect any information that you provide when you use this website.

Goodridge Limited is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement and in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU)2016/679.

Goodridge Limited may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 22 May 2018.

Data protection principles

In collecting and processing your personal information, we will comply with the data protection law in force at the time.  This requires that the personal information we hold about you must be:

  2. Collected only for valid purposes that we have clearly explained to you and not used in any way that is incompatible with those purposes.
  3. Relevant to the purposes we have told you about and limited only to those purposes.

The kind of information we hold about you

Goodridge Limited collect data about individuals within a business context. We only collect basic personal data about you. It does not include any special types of information. This can however include name, address, email, phone number etc. Information is collected about you when you request us to contact you or place an order with us for our products or services. All data which identifies an individual is treated as Personal Data. Goodridge Limited acts as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us, this means we control what happens to the data in our possession.

We may also collect the following information:

  • Name and job title
  • Contact information including email address
  • Demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests
  • Other information relevant to customer surveys and/or offers

How is your personal information collected?

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Active collection: information you provide to us when signing up for an account on www.goodridge.co.uk. When creating an account or signing-up for content or offers, we may ask you to provide us with your name, email address and details about your organization.

  • Passive collection: information which is automatically collected, without your knowledge, whilst navigating through and interacting with the content on our site and the content on each of our clients' site pages, as well as information on your device or computer (such as cookies).

The sole purpose of passively collecting your information is to improve your experience when using our clients' sites and web services.

How we will use information about you

We will only use the information provided by you to fulfil the service that you signed-up for. Where we would like to use the contact details you have provided us with for any other purpose, we will inform you and obtain your consent before proceeding. We will only use your personal information when the law allows us to and as detailed in this policy. Other uses may include: -

  • Internal record keeping
  • To improve our products and services

Marketing

If consent has been given, Goodridge Limited may also send marketing emails or contact you with details of other products or services we think may be of interest to you. Following consent for you to receive marketing emails, you have a right at any time to opt out from receiving our marketing emails. Change of purpose

We will only use your personal information for the purposes for which we collected it, unless we reasonably consider that we need to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original purpose. If we need to use your personal information for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and we will explain the legal basis which allows us to do so.

Please note that we may process your personal information without your knowledge or consent, in compliance with the above rules, where this is required or permitted by law.

Why might you share my personal information with third parties?

We may have to share your data with third parties, including third-party service providers. We require third parties to respect the security of your data and to treat it in accordance with the law.

We will share your personal information with third parties where required by law, where it is necessary to administer the working relationship with you or where we have another legitimate interest in doing so.

All our third-party service providers [and other entities in the group] are required to take appropriate security measures to protect your personal information in line with our policies.  We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes.  We only permit them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

Data security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal information from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal information to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal information on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality. 

We have also put in place procedures to deal with any suspected data security breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected breach where we are legally required to do so.

Data retention

We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

In some circumstances we may anonymise your personal information so that it can no longer be associated with you, in which case we may use such information without further notice to you.

Your rights in connection with personal information

You also have the right to object where we are processing your personal information for direct marketing purposes.
  • Request the restriction of processing of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of personal information about you, for example if you want us to establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it.
  • Request the transfer of your personal information to another party.

How we use cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.
